A Work Program Invested in You

Blackburn’s Work Program combines work, learning, and service. You’ll gain valuable skills, meaningful connections, and marketable experiences that meet and exceed any workforce demands in your field of interest.

The Work Program has been an absolute blessing for me. My leadership roles have brought out a sense of confidence in my abilities that I didn’t have before my time at Blackburn.

— Claire Stein '24, Psychology Major Student General Manager 23–24

How The Work Program Works

For 10 hours of work each week, students earn up to $8,000 in tuition credit for the academic year ($4,000 per semester). During summer Orientation, you can speak with our department managers about available positions and complete a Work Program Job Application. Based on your application and past work experience, our managers will place you in a position best suited to your skill set and goals.

A community as diverse as you

Blackburn is a community in the truest sense of the term. A vibrant student life, an eclectic campus environment, and a Work Program run completely for and by students create a supportive environment where all students are welcomed and celebrated.

A tradition of excellence

Athletics is a major part of student life at Blackburn College. From basketball to cross country, Blackburn College Beavers represent more than 30 percent of students across our campus, playing for 17 Division III teams. Find an opportunity to join a team or cheer in the stands as a member of our hard-working Beaver community.

Nationally Recognized Education Focused on You

With our nationally-recognized Work Program, there’s no better place to turn your drive for success into a career. Start at an institution that’s fully invested in you, with a community that’s fully invested in each other.
